Q:

Why has my payment expired?

A:

An ‘expired payment’ is a payment that we weren’t able to process. A payment can expire for one of two reasons:

  1. It wasn’t fully authorised before the payment submission deadline
  2. It’s been rejected by us or by the payee’s bank

A common reason for us rejecting the payment is because there wasn’t enough money in the debiting account at the time we tried to process it.

If your payment has expired and you still need to make it, you'll need to recreate the payment from scratch.

You don't need to delete expired payments, they'll simply drop off Bankline after 30 days.

You can find more information about why a payment expired in Bankline.
