Q:

How are standard domestic payments routed?

A:

Single payments destined for Ulster Bank, and bulk payments containing only Ulster Bank beneficiaries will be processed internally. This is a 24/7 routing system.

Payments destined for other Banks, and bulk payments containing one or more non-Ulster Bank beneficiaries, will be sent via SEPA routing.

SEPA payments can be made up until 2pm on any working day, and the beneficiary should receive the payment on the same day*. Payments made after 2pm (or on a non-working day) will be re-dated for the next working day.

Note that SEPA payments may be in a "Processing" state for up to an hour before they are accepted.

*The beneficiary's bank may not make funds available to the beneficiary on this date.
